Die Querdenkerin sammelt online Zitate, Bilder und Videos und b\u00fcndelt diese mit ihren Eigenproduktionen im typischen hyperrealistischen Post-Internet-Stil, wobei die visuellen Resultate ihrer Arbeit digitalen Begegnungen gleichen, die es uns \u2013 \u201etruth unlearning\u201c \u2013 erlauben, neue Lesarten althergebrachter Narrative zu entwickeln.<\/p>\n

Das Internet mag zwar \u201eirgendwo in den Wolken\u201c angesiedelt sein, liegt jedoch, rein materiell gesehen, auf dem Grund unserer Meere in Form von 880.000 Kilometer langen Glasfaserkabeln, deren Hauptverl\u00e4ufe den ehemaligen Schiffsrouten des Sklavenhandels folgen. Deep Down Tidal<\/em> hinterfragt die vermeintliche Inklusivit\u00e4t des Internets. Tabita Rezaire is an interfaith preacher and teacher of kemetic-kundalini yoga; as a researcher, she investigates racist and sexist power structures and their impact upon the development of identity, technology and the writing of history. She considers her artistic work to be digital activism for the purpose of healing. \u2018Dear spectators, you have come here to heal.\u2019 When a new theme has captured her attention, she spends months investigating it. She collects online quotations, pictures and videos which, in the typical hyperrealistic post-Internet style of her works, she combines in her own productions into a visual outcome. Truth unlearning: As an iconoclastic thinker, Tabita Rezaire creates digital encounters which allow us to develop new readings of traditional narratives.<\/em><\/p>\n

It may be that the Internet is located \u2018somewhere in the clouds\u2019 \u2014 but from a realistic point of view, it lies at the bottom of our oceans in the form of 880,000 kilometres of glass-fibre cables which follow the routes formerly taken by ships engaged in the slave trade.
