Fatma Bucaks Video Suggested Place for You to See it<\/em> l\u00e4sst eine Gruppe von dreizehn Frauen eher fortgeschrittenen Alters zu Wort kommen. \u201eVielleicht ist er schuldig und glaubt, er verdiene dies als Strafe. Schau, sie wird w\u00fctend \u2026\u201c, kommentieren die aus unterschiedlichen l\u00e4ndlichen \u2013 darauf deutet ihre traditionelle Kleidung hin \u2013 Regionen der T\u00fcrkei stammenden Frauen, die in einem Salzsee sitzen und einem Schauspiel beziehungsweise einer Performance zusehen \u2013 und wir wiederum beobachten sie dabei. In ihren Einw\u00fcrfen vergleichen sie die f\u00fcr sie offensichtlich ungew\u00f6hnlichen Handlungen, denen sie beiwohnen, mit ihren eigenen Wertvorstellungen und Erwartungshaltungen und machen dadurch f\u00fcr uns die Performance der K\u00fcnstlerin gedanklich nachvollziehbar. So hei\u00dft es etwa an anderer Stelle: \u201eSie spielen \u201adie Frau besiegt den Mann\u2018. \u2013 Ja, aber ich frage mich warum?\u201c<\/p>\n

Ihre Soundinstallation Enduring Nature of Thoughts <\/em>schl\u00e4gt eine Br\u00fccke zu den aleatorischen Kompositionsprinzipien experimenteller Musik. Dutzende bodennah und auf niederen Sockeln platzierte Emaillesch\u00fcsseln, die als Klangk\u00f6rper dienen, lassen einen subtilen Klangraum entstehen \u2013 es ist ein wenig wie beim Einsetzen leichten Regens \u2013 hier ein Kling, dort ein Klung, etwas weiter Kling Klang Kling \u2026 Es breitet sich ein zufallsgesteuerter Klangteppich aus, zur\u00fcckhaltend, doch die Aufmerksamkeit fesselnd, poetisch, und doch die Betrachtenden aktiv miteinbindend. Und auf visueller Ebene blicken wir auf eine Art Rudel, eine Community gleichf\u00f6rmiger Dinge \u2026<\/p>\n

In their commentaries, they compare the apparently unusual actions they are witnessing with the contexts of their instances of cultural socialisation and allow us, in the space of our own imagination, to comprehend the performance of the artist Fatma Bucak. And at another point comes this dialogic exchange: \u2018They are playing \u201cthe woman gets the best of the man.\u201d\u2019\u2014 \u2018Yes, but I wonder why?\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n

The sound installation Enduring Nature of Thoughts builds a bridge to the aleatory compositional principles of experimental music. Dozens of enamelled bowls which are placed on low-lying pedestals give rise to a subtle acoustic space, somewhat like the start of a gentle rain \u2014 here a cling, there a clang, somewhat further a cling-clang-cling\u2026 A soundscape spreads out at random: restrained but compelling the attention, poetical yet actively including the observers. And forming a pack on a formal level? Truly a community.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
