Raumlaborberlin sind in einer kollektiven Netzwerkstruktur agierende Architekten. Seit 1999 arbeiten sie an den Schnittstellen zwischen Architektur, Stadtplanung, Kunst und Intervention. Im Fokus stehen ungenutzte Potenziale, neue Perspektiven und urbane Diversit\u00e4t. Ihr partizipatives \u201eforschungsbasiertes Gestalten\u201c initiiert Prozesse, innerhalb derer neue Handlungsr\u00e4ume, Pionierfelder und ihre Zukunftsrelevanz ausgelotet werden.<\/p>\n

\u201eGeben wir der Zukunft ein Zuhause im \u00f6ffentlichen Raum! Oder: Es kann doch nicht einfach jeder schlafen, wo er will! Oder doch?\u201c, lauten beispielsweise Stichworte um den in M\u00fcnchen (2015) zusammen mit den Kammerspielen und\u00a0 120 jungen\u00a0 Menschen realisierten Versuchsaufbau Shabbyshabby Apartments!<\/em> Raumlaborberlin stellt Fragen nach neuen Formen des Zusammenlebens, etabliert Thinktanks und Orte f\u00fcr soziale Transformationen, erprobt Gemeinschaft und fasst Stadt und \u00f6ffentlichen Raum auf als Orte des experimentellen Aushandelns dessen, was in eine gemeinsame Zukunft f\u00fchren mag. Den Wintergarten der Villa Merkel verwandelt raumlaborberlin in einen einladenden Saal in Gestalt einer pneumatischen Folien-Architektur, die f\u00fcr Meetings, Veranstaltungen oder etwa sonnt\u00e4gliche Brunches gleicherma\u00dfen genutzt werden kann. In jedem Falle verspricht sie sehr besondere Raumerfahrungen. W\u00e4hrend der Laufzeit von GOOD SPACE<\/strong><\/em> werden Mitglieder von raumlaborberlin zu Workshops oder Vortr\u00e4gen einladen. In drei Ausstellungsr\u00e4umen der Villa Merkel erg\u00e4nzen Modelle, Pl\u00e4ne und weiterf\u00fchrende Materialien zu anderen Projekten den Auftritt.<\/p>\n

Raumlaborberlin is a group of architects who are active in a collective network structure. Ever since 1999, they have been working at the interface between architecture, urban planning, art, and intervention. The focus is on unused potentials, new perspectives, and urban diversity. Their participatory \u201cresearch-based design\u201d initiates process within which new spaces for action, pioneering fields, and their relevance for the future are explored.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet us provide the future with a home in public spaces! Or: People can\u2019t simply sleep where they want to! Or can they?\u201d are typical sayings from the experimental construct Shabbyshabby Apartments!<\/em> that was developed in Munich in 2015 together with the local theater Kammerspiele and 120 young persons. Raumlaborberlin raises questions about new forms of communal living, sets up think tanks and sites for social transformation, explores a sense of community, and views cities and public spaces as places for experimenting with what might lead to a shared future. Raumlaborberlin is transforming the Wintergarten in the Villa Merkel into an appealing room in the shape of a pneumatic foil-architecture that can be used in equal measure for meetings, programs or Sunday brunches. For the duration of GOOD SPACE,<\/strong><\/em> members of raumlaborberlin will hold workshops or deliver lectures. In three other exhibition spaces of the Villa Merkel, the presentation is complemented by models, plans and explanatory material about other projects.<\/p>\n

Ja, wir lieben die gro\u00dfen Ideen der 60er-70er und den Optimismus, der dem Federstrich zur Ver\u00e4nderung der Welt zum Besseren innewohnt. Doch wir sind der festen \u00dcberzeugung, dass Komplexit\u00e4t real und gut ist und unsere heutige Gesellschaft ganz grunds\u00e4tzlicher Ann\u00e4herungen bedarf. Deshalb sind unsere Raumkonzepte eher kleinen Ma\u00dfstabs und tief in den lokalen Bedingungen verwurzelt … BYE BYE UTOPIA!

\nYes we do love the great ideas of the 60s 70s and the optimism which is inherent in changing the world at the stroke of a pen to the better. But we strongly believe that complexity is real and good and our society today does need a more substantial approach. Therefore our spacial proposals are small scale and deeply rooted in the local condition\u2026 BYE BYE UTOPIA!<\/p>\n
